Critical Care in Rural Zambia

Mukinge serves a vast region with extremely limited medical resources. The hospital is a lifeline for a growing population, providing everything from emergency trauma surgery to maternal healthcare.

The Challenge

30% Increase in Patients

While patient numbers have surged over the last three years, government funding has remained flat, leading to critical shortages of life-saving medications and supplies.

Trauma & Emergency

The team handles high volumes of motorbike accident trauma, severe burns, and seasonal snake bites—all requiring rapid intervention and surgical expertise.

Specialized Care

In 2024, Mukinge hosted visiting pediatric surgeons, allowing local children to receive complex procedures that are typically unavailable in rural regions.

Medication Support

Our funds help cover the cost of essential medications and anesthetics, ensuring safe surgeries continue despite flat government funding.
