Hagar NZ
Hagar NZ works to combat human trafficking and slavery in South East Asia, helping survivors heal and rebuild their lives through specialized care, prevention, and ground-up policy change.
Strategic Partnership
The Better World Initiative (in partnership with Barcodes Ltd) supports Hagar’s fight against human trafficking and domestic violence.
2025 Focus:Our recent donations supported Hagar Cambodia’s foster care programme and a new community-based care programme for boys in Afghanistan.
Regional Operations
Hagar Cambodia
Hagar Cambodia provides residential, community-based, and emergency foster care for children at risk. Beyond immediate safety, they empower survivors through leadership programs and vocational training.
They lead nationwide training for judges and legal professionals to safeguard child victims throughout the judicial process.
Hagar Afghanistan
In response to extreme risks for children, Hagar is transitioning to a community-based model. The Kabul Boys Shelter remains a rare refuge for recovery from trafficking and abuse.
Initiatives include a Girls Shelter and the Restoring Lives through Livelihood programme, providing tailoring and micro-enterprise for women.
