Strategic Action & Partnership
The Better World Initiative (in partnership with Barcodes Ltd) supports specialist frontline partners like Hagar to combat human trafficking, domestic violence, and systemic exploitation.
Through specialized trauma-informed care, emergency shelter, legal advocacy, and vocational micro-grants, we help survivors heal, reintegrate, and rebuild their lives with dignity.
Recent Key Support: Direct funding towards Cambodia’s emergency foster care network and a community-based protection shelter for young boys in Afghanistan.
Cambodia Protection Initiatives
In Cambodia, our partners provide critical residential, community-based, and emergency foster care for children at high risk of trafficking and exploitation.
Beyond providing immediate safety and psychological care, programs empower young survivors through leadership development and specialized vocational training.
Systemic Legal Reform: Partners lead nationwide training for judges, prosecutors, and legal professionals to safeguard child victims throughout the judicial process.
Afghanistan Crisis Support
In response to severe human rights risks and extreme instability in Afghanistan, operations have transitioned towards a highly resilient community-based care model.
The specialized Kabul Boys Shelter remains a rare, essential refuge providing young boys with safety, medical care, and recovery from forced labor and severe abuse.
Empowering Women: Key programs include dedicated Girls Shelters and the Restoring Lives through Livelihood project, providing tailoring equipment and business start-up grants for women.
Vietnam Field Visit: October 2024
Vietnam continues to face significant challenges with cross-border human trafficking and domestic violence. Since 2008, frontline efforts in Vietnam have helped survivors of fraudulent job and marriage schemes heal and regain independence.
