Empowering At-Risk Youth
The Better World Initiative supported alternative education and providing essential teaching services for Youth Justice residential programs across Aotearoa from 1997 to 2006.
Beyond classroom support, we provide practical tools for engagement—from unicycle fleets for physical persistence to direct funding for outdoor rehabilitative equipment.
Alternative Education Partners
We provide resources and unicycle loans to specialized institutions working with over 500 students annually:
- CLS Auckland: Serving 500+ full-time students in alternative learning environments.
- Fast Forward: Providing free school holiday programs for needy children in Central Auckland.
- Christian Youth Groups: Funding for camps and spiritual mentorship programs.
Te Roopu O Wai Ora Inc
Specifically targeted at early intervention for ‘at-risk’ youth within the school system, this partnership focuses on building confidence through activity.
Impact Highlight
In 2011, the trust donated $2,800 to facilitate the purchase of a kayak, enabling new water-based rehabilitative programs for youth participants.
