Ethical Transparency Alliance

Uniting consumers, organisations, and communities to demand and achieve ethical transparency in the products they buy and sell.

The Ethical Transparency Alliance was launched by Better World in 2025 as an alliance of organisations, brands, advocates, academics, and business leaders working to bridge the gap between consumer demand for ethical supply-chain data and the current lack of trusted, accessible information.

Our Approach

The Core Strategy

1. Campaign for standardized ethical product data

The Alliance encourages brands and manufacturers to provide verified information about a product’s ethical and sustainable practices in a way that can be accessed by scanning the product.

2. Encourage companies to publish this data

This includes details about labour conditions, sourcing, environmental impact, and social responsibility, so consumers and organisations can make informed choices easily.

Why It Matters

Too often, consumers have no way of knowing the true impact of the products they buy. Poor labour practices, environmental harm, and unsafe conditions persist in global supply chains because transparency is limited.

The Ethical Transparency Alliance aims to change that by creating a system where every scan, label, or data point tells a clear, verified story.
