Thailand
CT Trust supports organizations combating sex trafficking and assisting survivors, such as LIFT International (in partnership with Tearfund) and Hagar NZ.
LIFT International
Founded in 2011 in New Zealand, LIFT International (formerly Nvader) was inspired by former police officer Daniel Walker, who saw the potential to use his undercover expertise to combat sex trafficking in Southeast Asia.
Our Partners' Core Strategy
Identify, Protect, and Prosecute.
Investigation & Justice
Sean Hatwell, a former NZ detective, now works with LIFT in Thailand. He values LIFT’s strategic approach, which targets organized crime networks rather than just individual traffickers. LIFT’s team operates undercover, gathering evidence to assist Thai police, who have grown to trust and collaborate with them.
What began as an investigative unit rescuing trafficking victims has evolved into strengthening law enforcement and judicial systems to prosecute offenders and protect vulnerable communities.
Restoration & Aftercare
LIFT offers shelters for survivors with no safe place to go. Their Thailand-based aftercare team, consisting of social workers, prioritizes survivor well-being, assisting with victim interviews and visiting shelters to ensure protection and support.
Comprehensive Recovery Support:
Survivors receive social work care, legal aid, vocational training, education, and healthcare to ensure long-term restoration from exploitation.
