Overseas Anti-Trafficking Project

Satya: India, Bangladesh & Nepal

Since 2011, we have supported Satya, a full-time coordinator dedicated to combating trafficking and forced prostitution across India, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

Joyya Ethical Fashion Project

A Lifelong Mission

Satya has been a close friend of David and Margaret Allis since 1990, when they served together in Kolkata. Over the decades, he has devoted his life to supporting mission teams and organizations working on the front lines of the sex trade.

"His work often involves travel to remote areas and places him in opposition to dangerous and powerful individuals, making it a mission that carries real personal risk."

Core Focus

Empowering Local Mission Teams

Satya focuses on equipping and supporting staff and volunteers from multiple organizations rather than working directly with survivors.

Rescue & Repatriation

  • Rehabilitation Homes:
Safe spaces for women and children leaving prostitution.
  • Family Reunification:
Helping survivors return home across state or national borders.
  • Border Clinics:
Healthcare and job programs for women returning from trafficking, particularly those who are HIV-positive.

Supporting the Marginalized

Satya’s advocacy extends to those most at risk of abuse and exploitation:

  • Street Children
  • Hijras (Transgender Women)
  • Widows
  • Prisoners
  • Minority Religious Groups

Regional Partners

Satya supports mission teams and volunteers in organizations such as:

  • Joyya (formerly Freeset) – Ethical fashion in Kolkata.
  • The Loyal Workshop – Leathercraft alternatives in the sex trade.
  • Freedom Firm & Project Rescue – Rescue and restoration for trapped girls.

Strategic Locations

Projects focus on high-risk hubs across the region:

  • Kolkata
  • Varanasi
  • Ooty (Devadasi girls)
