The Better World Initiative has been involved with various projects around the globe.
CURRENT OVERSEAS PROJECTS WE ARE SUPPORTING:
Global Hope Network International (GHNI) – in 2020-2021 we funded two different 3-year Community Development Projects in villages in Indonesia (in Oting village and Mawa Village). We also funded a 2-year Community Development Project in Tajikistan, and paid for the refurbishment of a drug rehab centre in Vietnam.
Bright Hope World – Bright Hope World is a New Zealand based charity, with a vision is to see the poorest of the poor become spiritually and physically self-sustaining. Their mission is to develop and resource partnerships with indigenous people who have a vision to transform their communities. In 2019-2021 we made donations to Bright Hope World to support some of their projects in: Zimbabwe (Peniel Children’s Home for orphans & vulnerable children); Bangladesh (funding a water pump in a village); and Zambia (supporting 5 different orphan care projects). We also get our coffee from Bright Hope World.
Hagar New Zealand– Hagar is a global humanitarian nonprofit organization offering services and assistance to people who have escaped sexual slavery and/or human trafficking. In 2019-2020 we provided funding to support Hagar’s work in Cambodia, Afghanistan & Vietnam.
PAST OVERSEAS PROJECTS WE’VE SUPPORTED:
In Bolivia, the Trust supported some youth work projects (La Paz & El Alto), as well as a well-drilling project called Agua
In India, Bangladesh & Nepal, the Trust supported a person who works full-time to reduce and prevent trafficking & forced prostitution with vulnerable people. Read more here.
